So here we are, anchored out in Hood Canal in a bay that is great in a northerly wind. We had a perfectly smooth night Monday and as of noon on Tuesday the northerlies are filling in and keeping the 'Hood pointing nicely offshore in about 20 feet of water. Perfect.
But...
NOAA is giving me all sorts of grief today:
.TONIGHT...N WIND 10 TO 15 KT...BECOMING S DURING THE EVENING.
WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT. CHANCE OF EVENING SHOWERS OR TSTMS.
.WED...SW WIND 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 1 OR 2 FT.Ahhh, I should sleep well as those southerlies build and swing us toward the lee shore tonight...

The keys for the A3 are in the top drawer in the galley, next to my wallet.
Update: We moved the 'Hood deeper into the bay, a good mile long skiff ride back to the house, but she's tucked in pretty well for the night. As we were setting the anchor the skies opened up on us. Thunder, lightning, rain, wind...we putted back on the dinghy in 2 foot chop and a drenching downpour...now it is perfectly clear and calm. Sigh.
Tomorrow we drop the hook in Port Ludlow after the 4th crowds pull out. The harbor master assured me via channel 68 that the bay would be "completely deserted". My kind of anchorage.
